Toujours selon lui : "The preamp doesn't really give out much distortion, which is why I goota have a gain boost in the guitar's pick'up."

Mainly because on each album there is a new > combination of sounds that need to be replicated on stage. There is a > midi switching system that allows me to change multiple combinations of > pedals with one switch. Most of this would be unnecessary in most cases. > As far as I would recommend, get a good guitar, a good amp and start > playing with different pedals and find what you like. I use Vox amps. My > main guitar is a Gibson SG, but I like all guitars. And as far as pedals > go the main ones are: Rat distortion, Big Muff fuzz, Small Stone phasor, > Boss DD-5 delay, Line 6 Delay Modeler and a Cry Baby Wha. I hope this > helps. But remember all gear does something cool. maintenant une photo guitargeek: une interview: Earth… is clearly an ambition album complete with effect laden, space-age songs, returns to a classic power-pop sound, and even tunes with a disco feel. When it came to determining what gear to use in the studio, what did you ultimately rely upon to capture your sound? Any particular guitars you amps, or effects you picked out? We kind of use our touring rig for recording a lot. Both Courtney (singer/guitarist) and I are Vox guys, so for amps that was pretty consistent. As for guitars, [there were some] new ones for me. I had a Gretsch Astro Jet for this record - just a super cool sounding guitar. And then [for] one of the new sounds on this record… I have a Gibson EB-6, the baritone guitar or six string bass, short tail six string bass, that I used a lot. How about any secret weapons in your rig? Do you have any standby piece of equipment that you routinely bring into the studio or onstage to createone consistent sound? That would probably be my RAT pedal… I mean, I don’t know… it was the first distortion pedal I bought, and I find that I can get it to do pretty much anything. It’s kind of my favorite sound… my SG into that and my AC30. It’s just, kind of… perfect. I love messing around though with pedals and stuff. I’m pretty much down with anything. I can make something happen Et enfin une photo du pedalboard: guitares: -Gbson SG -Gretsch Astro Jet -Gibson EB-6 ampli: -Vox AC30 Pedales: -ProCo RAT -EHX Big Muff -EHX Small Stone -Boss DD-5 -Line 6 Delay Modeler -Cry Baby -Boss TU-2 -Boss PSM-5 -DOD Stereo Flanger -Boss DM-3 -Boss PS-3 -Boss HR-2 -Ernie Ball Volume -Boss RV-3 -ZVEX seek wah -MXR Dyna Comp -MXR phase 90 -DOD envelope filter -BOSS PN-2 -Digitech Whammy Moi je ne saurai pas faire ça mais ça m'interesserai de voir le matos de Tom Morello ..
