Hi
Here's one I worked up this weekend, and I typed it in from memory with no
guitar at hand, so there are probably mistakes.
This is a nice, busy flatpicking tune. It should be played at about quarter
note = 240-260 beats/min. I don't know why it's called "blues" - it's certainly
not in a blues form.

Play AABB (repeat, if desired), ending
NOTES: each "|" marks a beat (quarter note). The phrase in parentheses is
optional, and probably shouldn't be played each time through. The part marked
"Pick-up measure" can be substituted for this phrase, or you can just lay out
for three beats.
The timing on the double-stops in the B-part should probably be "looser" than I
have indicated - just mess with it until it sounds right.
N/C means "no chord."

Hi
I worked this arrangement up from the "canonical" melody transcription (so to
speak) in "The Fiddler's Fakebook" by David Brody. This book is a very valuable
resource for the flatpicker (who reads standard notation).
Measures 1, 3, 4, and some others are identical to the TFF version, but parts,
like this one (measure 2)

were modified/added to make the arrangement more guitaristic and chromatic.
This is not transcribed (at least not consciously ;^) from anyone else's
version, and I don't have a version on record, so I don't really know who else
has done it. I just heard some of the old-timers (fiddlers) I play with doing
it a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be a good one to work up. I will
readily admit, though, that some of the licks are pretty Kaufman-esque.

Tapes II and III were collaborative projects in which members of this group
(and the old acoustic guitar mailing list) sent 3-4 taped songs to someone
(Larry Corbett for Tapes II and III) who compiled these sets into a master tape
and sent a copy to everyone who contributed (and some others as well). Tape I
never really existed - the master was lost by the British postal service, I
think. I did a couple of flatpicking tunes on Tape III.
