I've been struggling with this songs for a very long time (on several occasions on the last three years...) and I think it is correct now. Special thanks to Mark Veltzer with whom I share the credit of finding "What the hell did he play back there?" This song has much more chords than the PH "standard song", very much because of the raise of 3/2 tones in the key near the end; F#: 2-4-4-3-2-2 F#m: 2-4-4-2-2-2 F#5: 2-4-4-x-x-x (but really this is a no-chord...) Now I just can't stand all the pain, all the constant make and mend; oh how long must we pretend that we're just good friends? F#m C# I gave you my devotion, F#m B hiding nothing up my sleeve - E G#m If I walked clean out of your life C#m F#m would you even notice me leave? (On original release include the 4 lyric lines, on The Love Songs play them instrumentally - Same chords) You used to say 'I love you', you used to say 'You make me feel alive and young'; now we're just a habit, a flavour, one a month, to titillate your tongue.
