Although little known today, Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900) was a noted Czech composer of his time much influenced by Schumann, Liszt and Wagner. Perhaps the most fascinating of his piano works is the extensive collection of 376 highly individual miniatures, entitled 'Moods Impressions and Souvenirs' and dedicated to his mistress. This album contains 26 of the easier pieces together with two others.
